In a typical year, the MJM&AG depends on raising 25% to 30% of our operating budget through self-generated revenues, which includes fundraising dollars and donations, to provide high-quality, impactful programming and services to the community. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has seriously impacted our fundraising efforts over the last 2 years, this year, because of your donations and contributions to the MJM&AG, we were able to:
Present 8 exhibitions in our art gallery, museum and lobby.
Host 6 sessions of our In Conversation series in which 7 artists and a guest curator discussed their work with 363 viewers
Host 25 sessions and/or classes of our CreateABILITIES program. This involved 312 people with learning differences from our community.
Host 24 Noon Hour Slides sessions attended by over 611 people who learned about people, places and events all over the world.
Present the exhibitions Lost Children of the Residential School System: The Memorial at St. Andrew’s United Church and Legacy of Hope (which presented a detailed history of Residential Schools in Canada). We also hosted a virtual dialogue to discuss how individuals and communities can address Truth and Reconciliation.
